Designed for an avant-garde restaurateur and two Brooklyn chefs of high repute, the 5,000-square-foot Emmerson embodies gluten-inspired dreams. True to its name, emmer is one of the earliest cultivated types of wheat, which has both wild and domestic strains.
Honoring the paradox of wild and domestic, the Swan Dive team created a design that unified the concepts and resonated with the personality of the chefs and the cuisine. Emmerson displays the composition of edgy yet soft incorporating both masculine and feminine design aesthetics. The vestibule is created with library shelving that houses curious objects that serve to cleanse your palette before entering the restaurant. You are greeted with a custom live-edge community table with pink bow tie seams, and the neon glow of an astronaut art piece that sets the scene for your highly creative meal.
